
Historical Timeline and Milestones
Summer of 2003: launched MBADiversity's comprehensive Web 2.0 social portal to fill a void noticed from former application seasons. The portal provided a level of transparency about the MBA process from three vantage points: prospective, current, and alumni MBA. It also promoted the value of an MBA degree to millions of people across the world.
January of 2005: the organization launched its Fellows Program- which included a GMAT(r) Scholarship- the first inclusive, multicultural MBA prep program of its kind. Manhattan GMAT and Kaplan Test Prep(R) were the sponsors for the first year. The Fellows program is open to everyone. One of its goals is to also help under-represented groups.
August 27th, 2005: founded the first Diversity Symposium & Social for the MBA community, which was held in Atlanta Georgia. Pioneering schools and institutions that participated in the Inaugural Symposium: The Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, Goizueta School of Business (Emory), Haas School of Business of UC Berkeley, TMI Program at University of Michigan, and the Graduate Management Admissions Council(R).
February of 2006: After successfully building a membership base of over 1350 and aiding hundreds of prospectives in business school matriculation, MBADiversity was ready to restructure. It became an accountable non-segregated, membership- based professional organization.
April 21, 2006: The initiative was granted 501 c 3 status from the Internal Revenue Service.
August 17, 2007: To address the quantitative rigor of business school, the organization partnered with Dr. Peter Regan, Founder of MBA Math and Tuck professor, to offer a ground-breaking quantitative preparedness workshopat the National Symposium. Over 90 prospectives participated in the first class.
August 25, 2008: The Global Immersion Module, designed by MBADiversity to prepare members for international leadership and service, commenced for ten days in Shanghai, China. The GIM Design Team and participants in 2008 were: Ms. Soyini Taylor, Mr. Anthony Woo, Ms. Hana Yang, Ms. Jennifer Au, Ms. Megan Davis, Mr. Omatsone (Felix) Amoruwa, Ms. Sharonda Richardson, Mr. Steven Rodriguez, Ms. Nina Sui, and Ms. Danielle Howard.
September 2010: The organization begins the first generation for The Global Graduate Preparatory Program [GradPrep], the first graduate preparatory program for all graduate disciplines and faith-based fellowship.
